Aaliyah has been dancing in a variety of dance styles since she was six years old and trained competitively for 11 years. She attended two arts schools: Orange County School of the Arts (2015-2018) and Arizona School for the Arts (2018-2021) where she graduated as salutatorian and with the Arizona arts proficiency seal. Aaliyah has earned many accolades for her dancing such as the Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award from the AZ Dance Education Organization in 2021 and was the Talent Winner at the National American Miss California pageant in 2018. She also has professional experience dancing in the Hot Chocolate Nutcracker for Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy in 2013 and 2014, the Convergence Dance Company’s Alice in Wonderland production in 2020, and as a soloist for 2020 Noche en Blanco Benefit Show for the Margaret T. Hance Board of Regents. Most recently, Aaliyah has trained with the University of Arizona School of Dance and performed in their 2021 Student Spotlight and 2022 Dance is the Air performances as a soloist. Currently, Aaliyah is a biomedical and mechanical engineering major with a 4.0 GPA; she is involved in many campus organizations including Engineering Student Council.
