Dru N.

Junior

Frisco, TX

I began dancing at the age of three at Legacy Dance Center before moving to Next Step Dance Performing Arts Center, where I was a member of the performing company from ages 7 to 18. As part of a competitive dance team, I had the opportunity to attend and compete at numerous regional conventions and competitions, including Break the Floor, Radix, Adrenaline, Revive, and NYCDA. Throughout my competitive career, our team achieved great success, and I was also fortunate to receive multiple convention winner scholarships as a soloist.

After graduating from Frisco High School, I continued pursuing my passion for dance by training with NFL professionals, including Jennifer Amburn, Kelsey Lowrance, and others. Growing up in Frisco, Texas, much of my training naturally focused on Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) preparation, as many dancers in the area were working toward the same goal.

After not making the Pomline during my first year of auditions, I became even more determined to improve. I began training weekly with Remy, a former Pomline member, through College Dance Prep. I also continued taking Jennifer Amburn’s classes virtually through Zoom and sought out every Pom class available to me after moving to Tucson.

Today, I am entering my second year as a member of the Arizona Pomline and continue to dedicate myself to training, growing, and becoming the strongest dancer and performer I can be. I am always eager to take additional prep classes and seek out new opportunities to continue developing my skills and staying on the right track toward my goals.

A Fun Fact is when I was around 5 years old, I had a pet bunny that was black-and-white poka-dotted. I named the bunny Poker Face after my favorite Lady Gaga song because she was my favorite artist growing up.
