Maya Kurtin has been a dancer since the age of three and is continuing her dance career with her rookie season on the Arizona Pomline her freshman year. Maya grew up dancing at Royal Dance Works in Phoenix, Arizona and then moved to Mequon, Wisconsin where she continued dancing at North Shore Dance Studio. Throughout her four years of high school, she was on Homestead High School’s Dance Team where they performed at games, as well as competed throughout the state. In her high school dance team years, Maya has been awarded with “Rookie of the Year,” “MVD” (Most Valuable Dancer) and “Best Performer.” Maya was named an All-Star Dancer for her junior and senior years on the team at Badgerette competitions in Wisconsin, and she was also recognized as the top/first place senior dancer in Pom at Badgerette. Maya was a part of the National Honor Society in high school as she maintained a 3.965 GPA throughout her four years. She is a part of the Greek life here at Arizona as she is in Gamma Phi Beta. Maya is beyond thankful to be carrying on the Pomline legacy as her mom was an Arizona Pommie back in her day! She is looking forward to dancing alongside her teammates and the Pride of Arizona, representing the Big A!
